Post-Harvest Loss Mitigation & Supply Chain Stabilization Project

Sub-Saharan Africa suffers from staggering post-harvest losses.

With up to forty percent of fresh produce spoiling before reaching end consumers due to poor rural logistics, inadequate cold storage, and seasonal market gluts. The Post-Harvest Loss Mitigation Project is Ady’s Agro’s direct response to this systemic food security challenge. By establishing strategic procurement hubs near key rural farming zones—such as Kaduna State for world-class, highly aromatic ginger—we absorb bumper harvests directly from farm gates during peak yield seasons when crop prices typically collapse and spoilage rates surge.

Once collected, these highly perishable agricultural raw materials are immediately transported to our specialized processing facilities, where advanced dehydration, mechanical cleaning, and precision milling technologies transform vulnerable fresh crops into shelf-stable, nutrient-dense products. Converting short-lived harvests into long-lasting spices, seasonings, oils, and gluten-free flours drastically curtails farm-level food waste while preserving the inherent vitamins and essential oils of the produce. This project not only insulates local farmers against devastating financial losses caused by post-harvest decay, but also stabilizes national food supplies by ensuring clean, nutritious African ingredients remain consistently available in the market year-round.
