At the just-concluded Africa Food Systems Forum (AFS) 2024 in Rwanda, held under the theme “Innovate, Accelerate, and Scale”, it was an eye-opening and highly fruitful engagement. Our CEO, Mrs. Adanne Uche, was honored to be part of the distinguished attendees at this year’s event.
The journey began six months ago when Mrs. Uche was selected as one of the “Trailblazers” in the Leading African Women in Food Fellowship, an initiative sponsored by the African Food Changemakers. Representing Ady’s Agro Processing Limited, Mrs. Uche’s presence at the forum was a reflection of the brand’s core mission—to provide nutritious food solutions for children and households across Africa.
The forum kicked off with a thought-provoking session titled “Nourishing Today for Tomorrow’s Future”, which focused on the transformational power of school meals for children. This session was powered by key global players like The Rockefeller Foundation, Fortified Whole Grain Alliance (FWGA), and IDRC, emphasizing the critical role of nutritious meals in shaping the future of Africa’s younger generation.
One of the major highlights of the forum was a session on investment readiness, led by Sahal Capital’s Mr. Deji Adebusoye and Consultant Mr. Temi. They provided practical insights on what small and medium enterprises (SMEs) need to do to become more investable. Their advice resonated deeply, especially for emerging brands like Ady’s Agro Processing, as we continue scaling up to impact more households.
Additionally, we had the incredible opportunity to showcase our products and receive valuable feedback from peers and experts in the industry. Meeting the legendary Chef Paul Newham was another memorable experience. He passionately emphasized the urgent need for collective action to combat food insecurity and ensure access to nutritious food for all.
The forum also provided a platform to forge meaningful partnerships. Ady’s Agro Processing connected with delegates from countries across Africa, including Uganda, Tanzania, Burundi, Ghana, Kenya, Egypt, and Niger. These partnerships are poised to open new opportunities for growth and collaboration in tackling the continent’s food security challenges.

We look forward to leveraging the knowledge gained and the partnerships formed to continue innovating and transforming food systems for a healthier, more sustainable future.As the South-West Hub Secretary of the Sun Business Network (SBN) in Nigeria, Mrs. Uche had the privilege of meeting Mr. Lawrence Haddad, Executive Director of the Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN), along with the GAIN team from Kenya. This meeting further solidified her commitment to improving nutrition through partnerships.
One of the forum’s highlights was a meaningful discussion with Taylor from UNICEF on incorporating Ady’s “Baby Blends” product line for children, opening up potential collaborations with the global organization. The event also provided an opportunity to showcase Ady’s products and receive valuable feedback from stakeholders, including renowned chef Paul Newham, who emphasized the collective responsibility in combating food insecurity.
